The Stork Social app may collect the following when you use the service: your name, email address, and profile photos (if you create an account); profile type preferences and match history; attachments you voluntarily share with other users; and general device information (OS version, app version) used for diagnostics. We do not collect precise location data or sell your personal information to third parties.
What we collect: To verify that profile photos are authentic, users are asked to take a front-facing selfie and a side-profile photo using the device camera. These images are used solely for identity verification.
How we use it: The selfie images are submitted to Google's Gemini Vision API, which performs an automated visual comparison between the selfies and the user's uploaded profile photo to confirm the user's identity. No facial geometry, biometric identifiers, or faceprints are derived or stored — only the raw image files.
Third-party sharing: Selfie images are transmitted to Google LLC (Gemini API) solely to perform the one-time verification comparison. Google processes this data under their API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We do not share face images with any other third parties, and we do not sell or use them for advertising.
Storage and retention: Verification images are stored in Supabase cloud storage, associated with your account. They are retained for as long as your account is active and are permanently deleted when you delete your account. You may request deletion at any time by contacting privacy@purplellama.com.
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the Stork Social service, power profile verification and matching, facilitate in-app chat and secure attachment sharing, send optional account notifications (you may opt out at any time), and respond to support inquiries.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data with trusted service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., cloud storage, analytics, identity verification) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Any documents or files you share through the app are transmitted using encrypted channels and are accessible only to the specific user(s) you choose to share them with. We do not use this data for advertising or profiling.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
Stork Social is not directed at anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with their information, please contact us so we can delete it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Users in certain jurisdictions (e.g., California, EU) may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.
